🛡️ WHAT IS NOT IN THE PERMISSION LIST
No camera. No storage. No location. No contacts. No accounts. Photos come through the Android picker and camera intent — Plume never needs your gallery, as the permission list below shows.
The permissions Plume asks for are visible features you can refuse: microphone for voice notes, notifications and alarms for reminders. Refuse any; everything else works.

🏠 NO ACCOUNT, BECAUSE THERE IS NO SERVER
No Plume sign-up — there is no Plume server. Nothing uploaded or synced. Works offline — plane, tunnel, data off — under 6 MB.

🎨 A COLORFUL BOARD, NOT A GREY LIST
Every note takes one of eight pastel colors, and one tap filters the board down to it. Pick a date on the calendar to see only notes from that day. Search titles, bodies, checklist items and #tags as you type. Pin what matters, sort the board, and use folders when it fills up.

✅ TO-DO LISTS THAT BEHAVE
Turn any note into a checklist and tick items straight from the card. Completed items strike through and stay visible instead of disappearing, and every card shows a small progress bar.

📝 MORE THAN TEXT, IN PORTABLE MARKDOWN
Attach photos, drawings and voice recordings to any note, then crop, rotate, mark up or mosaic an image and play recordings in place. Every note is stored as portable Markdown: write in a clean visual editor with headings, lists, quotes, highlights, code blocks and dividers, or flip to source mode and edit the raw Markdown. Inline and block LaTeX renders as crisp math.

📦 YOUR NOTES ARE FILES YOU KEEP
One complete .plumebackup file holds your notes, checklists, images, drawings, recordings, tags, colors and settings, with optional password protection. Restore validates the file before you choose Replace or Merge. Password-protected backup and every restore path are free, including restoring a backup that the paid version created.

WHAT PLUME DOES NOT DO
No cloud sync between devices — the direct cost of having no account. Changing phones means exporting one backup file and importing it. No collaboration or shared notes. Plume is not open source, which is the fair objection to any privacy claim; the εxodus report above is an independent check, not a substitute for auditable code. Reminder delivery depends on your phone's alarm, notification and battery settings.
