About this app

CamGuard is a privacy-first arrival checklist for Airbnb, hotel and vacation rental guests. Before you unpack, it walks you through a short, structured room sweep, lets you note anything odd at each spot, and turns your notes into a report you can share. It is a guide for your own careful inspection, an anti spy routine you can finish in a few minutes, not a magic detector. When you want extra clues to find hidden cameras, quick Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, lens and magnetic checks are built in.

START WITH THE ARRIVAL CHECKLIST
- Guided room sweep: a step-by-step route through the places guests most often worry about, including smoke detectors, clocks and chargers, air vents, the TV and shelves, the bathroom, the bed headboard, mirrors and plants. Tick each spot as you go.
- Notes per spot: record an odd hole, a device with no clear purpose or a lens-like dot, so you remember exactly where it was.
- Shareable PDF report: export the sweep as a clean document with the date, the place and your notes. Send it to the host, the booking platform or a friend, or keep it for your records.
- Mirror test guide: a simple fingertip test to check whether a mirror may be see-through.
- History: look back at the rooms you checked on earlier trips.

QUICK CHECKS THAT SUPPORT THE SWEEP
- Wi-Fi network scan: lists the devices on the network you are on and flags ones that look like IP cameras. Read-only; it never logs in to any device.
- Bluetooth scan: shows nearby trackers such as AirTag, SmartTag and Tile, with signal strength.
- Lens glint and infrared view: use your camera and flashlight to look for reflections or a faint IR glow in dark corners.
- Magnetic meter: shows magnetic changes near electronics so you know where to look. Metal and speakers also trigger it.
- Likelihood result: None found, Low, Medium or High, so the answer is easy to read.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Open CamGuard when you arrive and start a new sweep. Add the place name.
2. Walk the checklist and tick each spot. Add a note where something looks off.
3. Run a Wi-Fi scan and a Bluetooth scan if you want more clues.
4. Use the flashlight lens view or IR view on anything that still bothers you.
5. Export the PDF report and keep it with your booking.

HONEST BY DESIGN
CamGuard never says a place is "safe". It cannot detect cameras that are switched off, record only to local storage, or do not use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, and it cannot scan radio frequencies, detect microphones or see through walls. Treat every result as a clue, not proof, and combine it with a careful visual search. If you feel unsafe, leave and contact local authorities.
