About this app

Is an app watching your phone? Applore checks it for known stalkerware and suspicious apps, free and on the phone.

SAFETY TOOLS (FREE, NO ADS)
• Suspicious App Checker: checks your installed apps against a reviewed list of known stalkerware, and flags sideloaded apps that behave like hidden monitoring apps, such as a hidden icon combined with accessibility or notification access.
• Why an app is flagged: each finding shows its main reason, so you can judge it yourself. If you installed the app and trust it, mark it as trusted.
• Monitoring apps: store-installed family and parental apps are labelled as monitoring apps, not spyware.
• Repeated reminders: if something serious is found, Applore reminds you later and again until you review it. The reminder never names the app; on the lock screen it shows only "Applore".
• Safety Check: a short guided review of the settings someone could change with brief access to your phone, such as screen lock, accessibility services and device admin apps.
• Safe removal guidance: steps to think through before removing a suspicious app, because removing it can alert the person who installed it.
• Support hotlines: contacts for domestic abuse and cyber crime help.
• Quick exit: one tap leaves Applore and removes it from Recents. Safety screens are hidden from screenshots.

SOMEONE HAD YOUR PHONE? (PRO)
Save a private snapshot of your apps and settings, and later see what changed. It stays on your phone.

PRIVACY
• App Lock: lock apps with a PIN, pattern or fingerprint. Free for up to 3 apps, unlimited with Pro. Apps you already locked stay locked, even if that's more than 3: Applore never unlocks them. Only adding a new app asks you to upgrade.
• Password Vault: passwords with autofill, backed up to your own Google Drive.
• Vault Gallery: keep photos and videos out of your gallery, in a folder that opens only inside Applore. Free for up to 20 items, unlimited with Pro. What you store can always be opened and restored.

APPS, FILES AND MORE
• Bulk uninstall, app file backup, apps by category.
• Find duplicate files and contacts; back up contacts to Google Drive.
• File manager, Focus mode, paused apps, time limits, hardware details and tests.

HOW DETECTION WORKS, AND ITS LIMITS
Scanning happens on your phone. The list of installed apps is not sent to analytics. Detection has limits: new or unknown apps, apps in a work profile, and tools that need a rooted phone may not be detected. Applore is not an antivirus and does not remove anything by itself. If you believe you are in danger, contact a local support service before changing anything on the phone, because removing a monitoring app can alert the person who installed it.

Stalkerware indicators © Echap, CC BY 4.0. The signed threat list also uses MVT (MIT) and ESET (BSD 2-Clause) indicators, and Applore checks for an update about once a day.

PERMISSIONS
• Query all packages: needed to check installed apps for stalkerware and to manage your apps.
• All files access: for the file manager and duplicate file search.
• Usage access: for app time limits, focus mode and usage insights.
• Accessibility service (optional): used by App Lock and Mental Wellbeing (Focus mode, paused apps, app time limits) to notice when a chosen app opens. It reads only that app's name, cannot read your screen or typing, and nothing leaves your phone.
• Device admin (optional): makes Applore harder to uninstall. You can remove it at any time.

Applore Free shows ads outside the safety screens. Pro (yearly, monthly or one-time Lifetime, in the app) removes ads and adds the full analysis and an evidence report for each flagged app, unlimited App Lock and Vault Gallery, Private Camera, snapshot check, Advance Lock, Focus Mode schedules, File Finder, Large File Analyzer, dark mode and no daily limits on duplicate files or contact merges. Pro does not detect more than Free.

The app has a lot of things, but there are things to fix. Like another person mentioned, the internal storage is labeled external, a minor issue. The apps categories failed to display a lot of my games, and probably other types of apps, but mostly the games (I have a lot of games, was easy to see they were not added). The apps category should have an option to allow custom categorization. There is space for improvements, hopefully battery usage/network data usage will be included on a new version

Thank you for the detailed feedback. Better game categorization and custom categories are on our list, and per-app data usage is in Applore now. If the internal/external storage labels are still swapped on your phone, please email applore@gtsinfosoft.com with the model. — Applore team

It has some bugs to work out, but no deal-breakers. As is, it's definitely worth installing/supporting. I'd really like to see an exclusion option in settings, so specific files or locations can be set to ignore (such as apk backups). The app uninstall history doesn't work, even with usage access and accessibility on. It'd be nice to be able to set the naming criteria for backups or at least change it to the app's name, not package name… & being able to change the backup path is desirable, too.

First impressions are not good. The "accept terms and conditions" box is not visible. This turns out to be linked to the individual phone's text and font size settings. Going to the Android settings app > display > advanced > font size and reducing the size of the font will fix this bug. For users with sight impairment, this is a big oversight (pun not intended) in the UI design. For a future update, the developers would do well to make the accept button visible for all font sizes.

Thank you for the detailed report — you were right. The consent screen has been rebuilt since then. If any button is still hard to reach at large font sizes, please email applore@gtsinfosoft.com. Accessibility matters to us. — Applore team
