About this app

Rent an electric scooter.

Explore the city

There is no better way to experience the city than with an electric scooter. Enjoy the sights and sounds of our friendly city. Breathe in the fresh air. You'll soon notice a ton of fun things you'd otherwise miss in a car.

Get from A to B faster

Downtown often has a surprising amount of traffic and full parking. With Hopp, you can ride on the pavement and bike lanes and skip the traffic. Get where you're going, and park right outside.

How to Hopp?

You'll find it's easier than riding a bike:

1. Locate a nearby scooter in the app.
2. Unlock it by scanning the QR code.
3. Ride safe and get there fast.

I go on the hopp bike and it says in the beginning that it's almost out of zone. And then I go where I have to go and I know just leave it where found it and then I Like It Like A extra 800 KR because there was almost out of zone. I think that unfair. And it definitely needs to be more clear where the zones are.

It's a really fun and nice way to get from place to place in the area that it services. There are, however, a few downsides that makes me not want to recommend it. The first issue that I had is that it feels difficult to control your speed. The throttle feels very loose and it's hard to hit that "sweet spot" to glide along comfortably. The second issue is cost. It cost me over 500 isk to ride about 5 minutes to and from my school whereas that same ride would have cost me just over 100 isk in gas if I had taken the car. I understand that being eco friendly can be costly but this month would cost me over 12.000 isk if I decide to take this to school each day.

Once this app is actually consistent and it's not up to if the app wants to work or not I might rate it higher. It's been years and I still never know it the app is gonna work properly or at all every single time I open it.
