About this app

SemChip tracks your run using your phone's GPS. No bib chip, no starting mat, no equipment other than the device you already carry in your pocket.

FOR RUNNERS

FOR THOSE ORGANIZING A ROAD RACE

Timing a small race has always been expensive: chip rental, mats, team. That's why most neighborhood, church, company, and club races simply don't have timing—and the results come out on paper hours later.

• Create the race in minutes, import the course as a GPX file, and checkpoints are generated automatically.
• Online registration, race number, and categories calculated by age on the race date.
• Results with time, pace, and splits for each athlete, by checkpoint.
• Live ranking page for the public to follow from home.
• Free for races with up to 50 athletes, no credit card required.

YOUR LOCATION, AND ONLY WHILE YOU RUN

SemChip uses background location to continue recording the course with the screen locked and the phone in your pocket — without this, tracking would stop when the screen turns off, and the run would be incomplete.

GPS turns on when you tap "Start run" and turns off when it ends. Outside of a run, the app does not access your position at any time. While the run is happening, a fixed notification makes this visible in the status bar.

The raw track is saved for 90 days; the result remains in your history as long as the account exists. You can revoke your consent and delete your data at any time through your Profile.

There is no advertising, no tracking, and no social network SDK within the app.
