About this app

The Language Player app allows you to consume media content in a foreign language with interactive transcript. The app supports 217+ languages. For example, if you are learning French, you can watch a video from a library of 40,000 videos in French, including TV shows, music videos, movies, news, audiobooks, etc. The video will have subtitles in both English and French. If you tap on any French word in the subtitles, you will see a definition of the word.

Language learning is mostly about input, i.e. reading or watching text, audio, or video in the target language. The challenge with input-based learning methods is that, while such methods are proven to be effective, learners often struggle to find an easy way to find suitable material with which such acquisition process can take place. Language Player aims to solve this problem.

Ratings and reviews

It it a good companion to the Chinese zero to hero course there are a few tweaks I'd make and some things that are annoying. Such as when you open it, it immediately starts playing a video so you then have to cancel that and back out to get to the menus for what you want, which seems barbaric.

Love the idea of this app, I have a lifetime subscription, but it's so unstable it's basically unusable. I honestly only rely on it to look at the recommended immersion hour milestones. I do feel I've wasted my money but since it was so long ago, I don't care anymore. But yes way too unstable and when you do report it and it gets fixed, something else breaks lmao.

Design : friendly Function : good, but only few lines of sentences ( about 10 sentences) then you need to be pro members.
