CQ Alerta is an independent application developed by Cota Cero Studio. It is not represented by, affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by the Government of Chile, SENAPRED, the National Seismological Center, the University of Chile, or any other public entity.

CQ Alerta is a seismic monitoring application for Chile that displays events on an interactive map and provides useful estimates for the user's selected location.

Main features:
• Configurable alerts based on estimated intensity and location.

• Live map of Chile and surrounding areas.

• Information on magnitude, depth, distance, and location of the event.

• Estimation of Mercalli intensity and seismic wave arrival time.

• Event tracking and updates.

• Access to recent earthquakes published by the National Seismological Center, with filters and map details.

• Configuration of sounds, volume, vibration, and alert levels.

• Dark and light modes. • Efficient operation: When the app is closed, it waits for push notifications instead of constantly querying the server.

LOCATION AND LOCAL ALERTS: With your permission, CQ Alerta attempts to update your location approximately every hour, even when the app is closed, to adjust alerts if you move to a different city. When an event is detected, it uses the last saved location without waiting for a new GPS reading. You can choose a manual PIN, which never changes automatically, and change these permissions in Settings. This feature does not guarantee alerts before you feel an earthquake.

COMMUNITY: General chat with participation guidelines, automatic filters, private message reports, and the ability to block users on your phone. The "Felt It" section reports are community contributions, not official information.
