It's nice to know about alerts in your area, but they can be excessive. I have recieved 10 notifications for the same thunder storm with potential flooding shotgun the last 4 hours when 2 would have been sufficient. I had to turn the wind advisory and red flag warnings off completely. Seemed like nonstop notifications. Update: I can't turn off the thunderstorm notifications. I've tried dozens of times. I'm deleting the app.

Whoever decided to change the app needs to be trained or fired. There is no longer a tornado siren to alert for tornadoes. IF it goes off at all, for ANY alert, it's delayed and sounds like a text alert. That won't get my attention if I'm sleeping. I'm lucky enough to get alerts from local TV stations, but others may not be that fortunate. My settings for alert types and locations are fine. My location has had a severe Tstorm watch since 12:36, and it's currently 12:47 and no notification yet.

A good app overall. I thank the Red Cross, it's important. I took off one star just because it's so difficult to get all the notifications set up, there's so many of them. I have 2 locations I watch. Each location has over 50 sliders with 2 or three sliders within each of those. There needs to be a simplification of the notifications system.

What's new

With this release, we made it easier to connect with disaster services offered by the American Red Cross. If a disaster has impacted your location or one of your monitored locations, and the Red Cross has opened service sites within a 50-mile radius, the Emergency app will notify you with a banner. Tap the banner to understand the services offered, location, and hours of operation. You can get directions to these sites and share them with friends and family.
