About this app

CellHive is an independent, privately run app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any sheriff's office, court, or other government agency, and it does not provide government services.

CellHive brings the public jail rosters of county sheriffs across thirteen states into one place — Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee and Wisconsin, more than 300 jails, updated through the day. Pick a state, choose a county, see who is in custody, and open a booking to read the charges as the county published them. No account needed to browse.

OFFICIAL DATA SOURCES

Every roster comes from the public roster published by that county's own sheriff or corrections department. Examples of the government sources we read:

• Milwaukee County, WI — https://incustodysearch.milwaukeecountywi.gov

The source for every covered county is listed at https://cellhive.co/sources and on the Data Sources screen in the app. Court hearing and warrant information comes from public court records via a third-party provider, and is offered only for the states that provider currently indexes.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Browse current rosters for every covered county across thirteen states
• Search a roster by name as you type
• See the latest bookings across a state on its home screen
• Open any booking for charges, booking number, agency, bail and housing details
• Sort a roster by newest, oldest, name, most charges or most viewed
• See who was released in the last three days
• Look up district court hearings and active warrants for a person, where available
• Read comments on a booking, and post your own with premium
• Share a booking, or generate a QR code that opens it on any phone

ALERTS

Create a free account — with Google, or an email and password — to follow individual inmates and be notified when their custody status changes, or choose counties and be told when someone new is booked there. Alerts arrive as notifications, and you control every one of them in Settings.

HOME SCREEN WIDGET

Put a county's recent bookings on your home screen. Tap the arrow to move through them, or tap the photo to open the full record.

BUILT TO BE FAST

Rosters and photos are cached on your device, so counties you have opened still work without signal. Star a default state, or a default county, and the app opens straight to it.

ACCOUNTS AND PREMIUM

A free account covers following inmates and receiving alerts. Premium adds search across every covered county, the full released archive beyond the three-day window, future-inmate watches, and posting comments. It is optional, sold through Google Play as either a one-time pass that runs out or a subscription you can cancel any time from the Premium screen, and Play shows the price before you buy. Premium works on cellhive.co with the same account. There is no advertising anywhere in the app.

PLEASE READ

Everyone listed is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. A booking record is not a conviction, and an arrest is not evidence of guilt. Roster data is a snapshot of public records and can lag behind or differ from the county's own records, so always verify anything important with the county directly.

This app is not a background check and must not be used to make decisions about employment, housing, credit, insurance or eligibility for any benefit. CellHive is not a consumer reporting agency.

REMOVAL IS FREE

If a record has been expunged or sealed, or you believe it should be taken down for another reason, use the removal request form on the home screen. A person reviews every request and you will be told the outcome by email. We never charge to remove a record, and we never ask anyone else to.
