About this app

"Driving Assistance", previously "Driver Behavior Monitor (DBM)", is an Android application that turns an ordinary smartphone into an in-vehicle driver assist, road monitoring and early risk detection node. The front phone camera (user-facing) observes the driver and cabin. The rear phone camera observes the road ahead. The application analyses both streams on-device in real time, raising immediate audible and visual warnings for risk conditions, maintaining a running compliance score, and keeping a local evidential record of events. Added value features include warnings of speed limits, speed control areas, parking (lots and curbs) areas, and many other functionalities, with new ones to be added successively in future releases.
