Ratings and reviews

Game Coaster has served me well with Dungeon Maker for ten years. They have only gotten money from me three times: DM+DLC, and now. For all the effort they put into one of my most beloved games, I am fine with paying the price for an early access game. I know they will meet my expectations. And if not? Oh well. But I doubt that to be the case. The game—however rough it is around some edges—is already fun to me. It can only go up from here.

Gamecoaster puts out quality games that aren't money sinks, and offer a lot of re-playability. Dungeon Within is no different, with beautiful pixel art and a lot of different playstyles. The game is still a bit early, so there's still some growing pains (Last Stand Coliseum building feels nearly critical every game), but there's a lot to enjoy with a beautiful presentation. I can't wait to see what's next for the game.

I really enjoy this game so far. The character designs are very nice and the combat game play loop feels pretty good. The only thing that keeps me from giving five stars is that I have no idea what I'm doing. There isn't a tutorial and I'm just having to learn as I go. If something could be done about that I will happily bump my review to five stars. Also making it easier to edit what units are inside a hunting ground would be nice as well.

- Added 2 new unlockable elements to the Architect's Workshop.
- Core System: x1.0/x1.2/x1.5 combat speeds are now default for all players.
- The 'Flow of Battle' workshop element now expands speed up to x3.0.
- Monsters now have a base Part drop rate (6% Main, 10% Sub) on dismantle, even at Memory Stage 0.
- Bookmarked entities are now always prioritized at the top of the sorting list.
- Widened visual spacing in combat rooms and reduced the final kill slow-motion duration.
