What are these ambiences for?

There are 5 categories and 25 ambiences for you to listen. These categories are Forest, Water, Fire, Rain and Various. Under each category there are more variety of sounds. These ambiences will help you move away from distractions while studying. You can use the app for better sleep too.


How to use it?

It's simple. Just select the ambience for your task and add calming melodies or alpha waves if you want. For example, if you can't focus on your work properly you can select the
Autumn Forest atmosphere under the Forest category and calm your mind easily. If you can't read your book in a crowded place just select Waterfall under the Water category and isolate yourself easily.

Do I need an internet connection?

No. You can use Study Ambience without an internet connection. But some of the songs need an internet connection in order you to listen. Online category give your more meditative sounds but may use your data.

What are binaural beats? How does it affect me?

Binaural beats, or binaural tones, are auditory processing artifacts, or apparent sounds, caused by specific physical stimuli. This effect was discovered in 1839 by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove and earned greater public awareness in the late 20th century based on claims coming from the alternative medicine community that binaural beats could help induce relaxation, meditation, creativity, focus, and other desirable mental states. The effect on the brainwaves depends on the difference in frequencies of each tone.

EDIT: They have commercialized the app and blocked many sounds with payment. I am genuinely so upset because this was definitely one of my favorite apps for many years. onto something else, I guess. original review: Literally such a nice app with good built in music and sounds. I use it all the time when I study or need sounds to sleep. The few ads it has are minimal and don't affect usage.

They now want 3 dollars a month (or 14 for the year) to listen to sounds that were free prior to the last update. The app now offers a mere 2 free sounds in the five categories, none of which are very good. I can't fault the developer for trying to make money but I have no interest in paying just to listen to some crackling fire while I read my Kindle.

I have used this app for a couple of years now and have loved the variety especially the rain/thunder, ocean, and lake at night sounds. However, I recently installed the update to this app and now I am not happy. You've made 2 of my 3 favorites available only with a subscription. As a matter of fact, most of your app is now available only by subscription. Not cool! I am now on the hunt for better apps in this genre.
