Your phone decides how every notification sounds. Notification Wizard lets you decide instead.
Write a rule, and the next notification that matches it gets treated the way you want: re-posted with a sound you actually recognize, made louder, silenced, removed before you ever see it, dismissed after a while, or repeated until you deal with it.
MATCHING
• By app, by keywords, or by regular expression
• Several keywords at once, plus exclusions that rule a match out
• Nested AND / OR / NOT groups when a flat list is not enough
• Drag rules into priority order. First match wins
• Long-press anything in the log to build a rule from it, already filled in
WHAT A RULE CAN DO
• Give it its own sound, importance, vibration and LED color
• Override notification volume, silent and vibrate mode, or Do Not Disturb, for that rule only
• Repeat every few minutes until you dismiss it
• Suppress the original outright, or replace it with a silent copy you can still tap
• Auto-dismiss the original, the re-posted copy, or both, after a delay you set
• Limit a rule to certain hours, so work alerts stop at six
• Give a rule an expiry date and it turns itself off
THE LOG
Everything that arrives is logged, searchable, and filterable by app, so you can see what is actually interrupting you. Clear it whenever you like, or have it clear itself after seven days.
MASTER CONTROL
One screen for when you want quiet without editing eleven rules. Disable everything for an hour, four hours, or indefinitely. Turn on Silent Mode and have what was held back replay when the window ends. Set a quiet schedule by day and hour that runs itself.
ALSO
• Reminders: park a notification and have it come back when you choose
• Stats: a weekly chart and per-app counts
• Export and import your rules to move them to a new phone
• Survives a reboot
• Light, dark, or system theme
ABOUT NOTIFICATION ACCESS
This app needs Android's Notification Access permission, and you should know what that means before granting it. The permission lets the app read the content of every notification on your phone, from every app, not only the ones you write rules for. Android provides no way to grant it narrowly.
Here is what the app does with it, and what it cannot do. Everything it reads is written to a log stored on your phone, in a database encrypted with AES-256 under a key held in the Android Keystore. That log is excluded from Google's cloud backup, so it never leaves your handset.
And it cannot be sent anywhere, because the app does not request internet permission at all. That is not a promise about our intentions, it is a property of the app that Android enforces, and you can confirm it in the permissions list on this page before you install. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no server.
The log is readable by anyone holding your unlocked phone, so use a screen lock.
NOT A MONITORING APP
Install this on your own phone, for your own notifications. It is not built for tracking anyone, it does not hide itself, and using it to read someone else's messages is forbidden by the terms and is a crime in the United States and many other places.
Requires Android 8.0 or later.
