About this app

Vault Nest is a private, offline-first password manager for Android with a Wear OS companion that keeps selected credentials close at hand.

Create one encrypted vault for logins, secure notes, identities, Wi-Fi credentials, and custom records. Organize entries with labels, favorites, archives, reusable templates, and Trash.

Strong Local Encryption

• AES-256-GCM encryption protects sensitive vault records
• A unique vault key is wrapped using a key derived from your master password
• Your master password is not stored
• Automatic locking can protect the vault after inactivity or when the app enters the background
• Optional Android biometric unlock uses Android Keystore protection

Credential Tools

• Generate strong passwords with configurable length and character options
• Review password strength locally
• Store usernames, passwords, websites, PINs, OTP secrets, backup codes, notes, and custom fields
• Copy selected values with automatic clipboard clearing attempted after five minutes
• Add optional expiry reminders for saved credentials

Wear OS Companion

• Choose a limited set of credentials on your phone and sync them to your paired Wear OS watch
• Protect the Watch vault with a dedicated 4–6 digit PIN and escalating delays after failed attempts
• Store synced Watch entries encrypted at rest using Android Keystore protection
• Browse synced entries and view usernames directly on the watch
• Keep passwords hidden by default and reveal them temporarily for 10 seconds
• Copy a password from the watch with automatic clipboard clearing attempted after one minute
• Refresh synced entries, lock immediately, or erase and reset the Watch vault from the watch

Backup and Portability

Create an encrypted .vaultpack backup protected by a separate passphrase, then restore it when needed. For migration to another password manager, you can deliberately export a plaintext CSV after acknowledging its security risk.

Optional Android Protection

Enable screenshot protection on supported screens. You can also choose opt-in intrusion evidence, which uses the front camera after repeated failed unlock attempts and stores the captured image encrypted in private app storage.

Private by Design

Vault Nest has no developer account, cloud vault, advertisements, analytics, or trackers. Core phone and Wear OS vault features work without an internet connection after the selected Watch entries are synced. Optional website-icon retrieval connects only to websites saved in your vault to download their artwork.

Important: Vault Nest cannot recover your master password or decrypt your vault. Keep the master password safe and maintain tested encrypted backups.
