Review from Amelia McGonigal
Worth the money! Before downloading this app i was constantly having to look at my watch and think about the time, which made it seem to take forever. With this app i just put on pandora and go..and actually enjoy my run!
I'm really liking this so far. I've signed up to do a 5k fun run in a few weeks' time. Never done one before and my fitness level isn't exactly amazing so I thought I'd try this to at least get it up somewhat. Just finished week 1 and so far, so very good. I like that I'm not constantly talked to, that the voice only pipes up when necessary to tell me to walk or jog (I'm using the Runicorn, I like his upbeat voice), the rest of the time it's just me and my music. I feel like the pacing was good for week 1, I'm feeling it (I did especially after day 1!) but I don't feel like I'm about to die. The GPS is great so I know how far I've gone. I haven't encountered any issues yet and this has got me up and active and, dare I say it, actually enjoying exercise. Definitely recommended for a beginner, has worked really well for this one so far.
Fantastic app. It's perfect for beginners like i was. Can now run a solid 30 mins without rest. My best advise is invest in good running shoes and ladies, get yourself a good bra. I ran in some cheap trainer i got off ebay and my knees and ankles killed... have lost a ton of weight and am so so so happy about the whole experience. Definitely recommend. Update: This app got me active and when i cleaned up my eating lost 40 lbs. Perfect app. Am starting from week 1 again to increase my speed now :)
Very helpful. I have exercise induced asthma, so I've never been able to run. This app taught me how to run (well, jog, anyway) & reduce my athma. Now I don't even need my inhaler. It DOES take time. I did week 1 for about a month before moving up, but each week got easier and by week 4 I didn't have to repeat them anymore. A++
I was a proper couch potato, gave this a try. Its taken me over the suggested 9 weeks to hit the 5k marker, but thats okay. Ive just ran my 1st 5k (and 3 stone lighter now also). Going to give the 10k app a go now!
Clear and Simple There's not much to say other than the app works exactly the way it's supposed to. The interface is clear and easy to use and the voice prompts are ok. The only problem I have is, on my S5, Google play music doesn't work seamlessly with C25K; the two apps work side by side though, so no big deal.
The app is great at tracking right up til you hit the time limit and then it quits. I don't like that it doesn't have an option to continue tracking my distance and speed past the allotted time. Also I find I want to keep up my pace even when it says slow down. I haven't yet found an option to adjust that, or any options to add days to my week. 3 days a week? I need more than that. Otherwise it's a fine app.
Is the easiest program to get beginners from seat to 5K distance runners.
