Frond is a digital herbarium for anyone who collects plants — botanists, foragers, gardeners, hikers, and the merely curious.

Record a specimen the way you would in a field notebook: photograph it, note where and when you found it, describe the leaf shape, the habitat, the smell of the crushed stem. Frond keeps each entry as a proper record rather than a photo buried in your camera roll.

Frond uses your own Google Gemini API key for identification. You paste the key once; it stays on your device and is never sent anywhere except Google's API. No account, no sign-up, no subscription, no server of ours between you and your data. Free tier keys work fine.

You can also add specimens entirely by hand and skip the AI altogether.
