About this app

Mimeo is a document scanner that cannot send your documents anywhere.

Not "does not." Cannot. Mimeo requests no internet permission at all, so Android itself refuses to let the app open a network connection. Scanning, page cleanup, text recognition, and PDF assembly all happen on the handset in your hand. There is no account to make, no cloud to sync with, no upload that runs quietly in the background, and nothing to opt out of.

That matters if you scan the kind of paper most scanner apps quietly ship to a server: leases and deeds, medical paperwork, tax records, client files, court documents, land surveys, insurance claims.

WHAT IT DOES

- Point the camera at a page. Edges are found, the page is squared up, and the shadow of your own hand is lifted off it.
- Multi-page documents in one pass — capture forty pages, get one PDF.
- Import photos you already have from the gallery.
- Clean PDFs with no watermark. Not on the free presses, not ever.
- Name, rename, and file your documents.
- Share the finished PDF anywhere — mail, messaging, cloud storage of your own choosing.

THE FULL PRESS — ONE PAYMENT

The first five documents are free, at full quality, unwatermarked, with no page limit. The counter only moves when a finished PDF is actually on your shelf; a scan you cancel costs nothing.

One payment then unlocks:

- Unlimited documents.
- Searchable PDFs. An invisible layer of the words is written underneath the picture, so a reader can find a name inside a scan. The reading is done by a model that ships inside the app — nothing is sent out to do it.
- Password-protected PDFs. Encryption is written into the PDF itself, so the file stays locked in any reader on any machine, long after it has left your hands.
- Folders, to file jobs by client, property, or year.

One payment. No subscription. No ads. No watermarks. No trial that expires. Buy it once and it is restorable on any device signed into the same Google account.

PRIVACY, BY CONSTRUCTION

Check the permission list before you install this or anything else. Mimeo asks for no internet access, no contacts, no location, and no access to your photo library beyond the picker you choose to use. Documents are kept in the app's own private storage, where other apps on the phone cannot reach them. Nothing is collected, because there is nowhere to collect it to.

Android's backup service is switched off for this app, so your scans are not copied to Google Drive and are not carried across by phone-to-phone transfer. Uninstalling the app removes every document it holds. Keep copies of anything you need.

A NOTE ON PASSWORDS

If you password-protect a document, that password is not stored anywhere and cannot be recovered. That is the point of it. Write it down somewhere real.

What’s new

Mimeo turns paper into clean, searchable PDFs. Scan a page, straighten it, save it, read it back.

Scanning works without a connection, and your scans stay on your device. Nothing collected, nothing shared, no account, no ads, no tracking.

The free app covers everyday scanning. Full Press is an optional one-time unlock, never a subscription: unlimited scans, OCR, folders and search.
