Hear an idea, find a groove and keep the original take. AEther Recorder combines local WAV recording with listening, rhythm practice, audio imports and an eight-track workspace.

LISTEN, RECORD, SAVE
Tap Listen to hear your input without creating a file. Tap Record when ready, then Save take to finish the recording while listening continues. Record also works without monitoring. A rolling waveform and VU meter show the incoming signal; Stop session ends the audio session. Headphones help avoid feedback.

PLAY A GROOVE
Choose Click, Rock, Funk, Shuffle or Waltz at 40–240 BPM, with swing and separate input and drum levels. Play groove works without using the microphone or recording a take, including user-started background playback with Stop controls. Clean, Warm and Focus tone controls affect monitoring only. Generated drums and monitor effects are not digitally mixed into your saved original.

KEEP ORIGINAL WAV AUDIO
Automatic setup prefers connected USB or wired inputs and their advertised rates and channels. You can choose the input and format yourself. PCM16 is the default; advanced PCM24 requires Android 12+ and confirmation from the input and Android's actual format. Incoming complete PCM frames are written to local WAV files by a separate writer. Long takes split into parts; recovery retains complete saved frames after an interruption. No uninterrupted-hardware or acoustic-latency guarantee is made. Android and the input hardware may process or resample audio. USB operation depends on your phone, interface, adapter and power.

LIBRARY, IMPORTS AND EIGHT TRACKS
Play, share or export saved takes. Import supported WAV, MP3, M4A, FLAC and Ogg files, subject to Android decoder support, with a retained source copy. Explore channel waveforms, zoom and seek. Assemble up to eight tracks with trim, timing offsets, level, pan, mute, solo, loops and tempo. Projects keep their own audio copies. Export a separate 48 kHz stereo PCM24 mix; clipped export is refused so you can lower levels first. Original recordings remain unchanged.

PITCH AND MIDI TOOLS
Inspect levels, pitch, chroma and possible chords in a bounded audio excerpt. Harmonic results are estimates. Use the chromatic, guitar or bass tuner with alternate tuning targets and adjustable A4 reference. Select and arm a MIDI destination and channel before sending control changes, program changes, XY, expression or clock. Dedicated Pocket Master controls send documented requests; the app does not confirm the pedal's resulting state. Physical Android USB and pedal behavior still need checking with your setup.

OPTIONAL LOCAL TRANSCRIPTION
Explicitly download the separate 358 MiB Whisper small int8 pack to transcribe saved takes on the device. Interrupted downloads and completed transcription windows can resume. Choose a language or auto-detect, review the text and export TXT or SRT with approximate window times. Audio is never uploaded. Transcription accuracy varies; word alignment, speaker labels, translation and denoise are not included. FLAC import is supported; FLAC recording and export are not.

YOUR FILES, YOUR CHOICE
No account, advertisements or analytics. Recording, listening, grooves, imports, mixing, tuning and MIDI need no model download. Internet access is for the optional public transcription model download or repair. Audio, projects and transcripts stay locally until you choose Share or Export. Projects retain their source copies until separately deleted. Android app backup and device transfer are disabled. Export valued files before uninstalling or clearing app data. Record only material you have permission to record.

What’s new

Listen without recording, view live waveforms, and record lossless WAV with automatic audio setup. Practice with click and drum patterns, import audio, build multitrack projects, use the tuner and MIDI controls, and add optional on-device transcription. New: Play Together Preview for simple chord pads and tempo following. It starts off; speaker setup must pass before use. Speaker accompaniment remains experimental. Headphones are recommended.
