It serves its function well. Every year, I use it to track my friends's, family's annual yacht trip between FL & southern europe. The accuracy is spot on, vessel identification is accurate, and it provides informative coverage basically anywhere worldwide. Even with a full crew compliment, it's still comforting to monitor progress and to view the proximity of other vessels. It can be an invaluable tool if used properly (not just for "ship spotting."

I signed up with Facebook and quick as i start seeing map it cut out and every time I tried to enter it turned off. What a waste of time.

Amazing app, I share two of my stations with the guys at shipxplorer and they have done well with their new project. I was using the website and didn't know there existed an android app. Lots of features and decent coverage with colourful maps.
