AktiveShare is a peer-to-peer borrowing and lending platform that connects people who need things with people who have them and want to share. With AktiveShare, you can share equipment, tools, skills and knowledge, either at no cost, or for a fee.

You have these options on AktiveShare: if you need something, you can borrow or rent. If you have something to offer, you can share.

Anyone can become either a borrower or a renter, or become a lender or seller. Or any combination, depending on your needs. AktiveShare provides a local lending infrastructure that leaves the choices up to you.

With the AktiveShare website or the iPhone or Android mobile app, borrowers can search, locate and request an item or service. Finding what you need is convenient and easy, and transactions are secure.

For lenders, you can confirm a request, arrange a time and place of pickup, and ensure your item is returned in good condition. AktiveShare makes your goods or services available to your neighbors and takes care of all the details.

The power of sharing

We already live in a sharing economy: Uber, Lyft, Airbnb and other services encourage short-term usage, which offers lower cost, greater options, and more flexibility. AktiveShare is a part of this growing social awareness that ownership is not always the best option.

AktiveShare lets you share with your neighbors or community members, get to know them and build a closer community. Whether you live in a single-family home, an apartment or a condominium, you have people nearby who have things you need; and they have a need for the things that you might have but aren’t using.

With AktiveShare, borrowing and lending are simple, safe, and flexible. While borrowing and lending, you meet people and engage with them. The transaction is people-based— you know with whom you are dealing.

AktiveShare for Borrowers

AktiveShare lets you borrow instead of buying, reducing spending and not accumulating things you don’t regularly need. Some neighbors are happy to lend. Others require a fee; both are good alternatives to buying things you don’t use often.

To begin as a borrower, create an account on AktiveShare, then search by category and location. AktiveShare presents the items that meet your search criteria, the prompts you to set a timeframe and request the item. The lender responds either by accepting or declining your request.
