The Orton Gillingham method overall is excellent. This app from all about press is incomplete to say the least. It only gives one sound for each of the letters. I'm working with an older dyslexic student and needed all The sounds. For example, the letter a actually makes three different sounds, not just the one that is given here. This app also does not have digraphs and combinations like tion. All about press used to have an app that had all of these sounds. Bring that one back please.

Hi Cheryl, thanks for your response! This is a beginning app for use with our preschool program. For a free app that has the multiple sounds for phonograms, download the Phonogram Sounds app: https://www.allaboutlearningpress.com/phonogram-sounds-app/.

I need an app that does the two letter phonogram sounds along with the single letter phonogram sounds to help my kindergartener. It appears that the app that offers the two letters phonogram sounds is no longer available to Android users. I'm on an S22 and getting a message that the app is not available for newer versions of Android. Utterly unhelpful.

Sorry for the frustration, Kylee! We do have an update for the Phonogram Sounds app coming out; we are just waiting for Google Play to release it. It should be available soon! In the meantime, you can use the online version here: https://www.allaboutlearningpress.com/phonogram-sounds-app/ . I hope this helps! ~Merry :-)

As an Orton-Gillingham reading tutor this is great. Simple, accurate, clear sounds. Now we need to go back a step and include a similar app that just says the alphabet sounds. Many children do not have a command of the alphabet itself . They should master alphabet before they do any sounds. Exactly the way this app is laid out but with names of letters. lower case. Just q I love that you isolate the topic which is a hallmark of Orton- Gillingham, the origin of the phonics program.

Thanks for your comments, Carol! I'll be sure to pass your suggestion on to our team. Our Pre-reading program does just that--students learn letter names first and then work on letter sounds: https://www.allaboutlearningpress.com/all-about-reading-pre-reading/
