Break free from phone addiction. Together or solo.
We pick up our phones hundreds of times a day. Social media, endless scrolling, "just checking" that turns into an hour lost. You've tried willpower. You've tried screen time limits that you just tap through. Nothing sticks.
Anchor is different. It actually blocks the apps you choose to restrict - and pairs you with an accountability partner who's on this journey with you.
Named after Hebrews 6:19 - "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure."
Two ways to use Anchor:
👥 Partner Mode - Better together
Pair with a friend, spouse, or mentor. You both install Anchor and hold each other accountable. Share screen time stats, set goals together, and approve each other's app requests. It's not about surveillance - it's about having someone in your corner who wants to see you succeed.
🔒 Solo Mode - Start your own journey
No partner? No problem. Generate a PIN and store it somewhere inconvenient. When you're tempted to unblock Instagram at midnight, having to walk to your car for the PIN creates the pause you need.
How it works:
1. Choose which apps you actually need (messages, maps, banking)
2. Everything else is blocked by default
3. Your home screen becomes a calm, minimal space
4. Want to add an app back? In partner mode, send a request. They can ask why or just approve it.
5. Set time limits on apps you want to use mindfully
What makes Anchor different:
📱 Built for phone addiction
Not content filtering. This is for people who lose hours to their phone every day and want to change that.
🤝 Collaborative accountability
Optionally share screen time and app usage with your partner - not your messages, not your browser history. Just enough to support each other.
⏱️ Time limits that work
Set a 30-minute limit on YouTube. When time's up, it's actually blocked. Your partner can see you're sticking to your goals.
🏠 Minimal launcher
Your home screen only shows the apps you've chosen. No app drawer full of temptations.
Permissions explained:
• Accessibility Service: Blocks apps when you try to open them. We only see which app launched, not what's on your screen.
• Usage Stats: Shows screen time by app - shared with your partner so you can support each other.
• Notifications: Alerts for partner requests and approvals.
Who it's for:
• People tired of losing hours to their phone
• Couples who want to be more present with each other
• Friends on a digital wellness journey together
• Anyone ready to be intentional with technology
Free. No ads.
We built Anchor because we needed it ourselves.
