About this app

Call Kavach — Spam & Fraud Call Blocker

Call Kavach automatically blocks spam, fraud and telemarketing calls so your phone stays silent when scammers call. Built for India (works worldwide), it combines your own block rules, a built-in blocklist, international-call filters and on-device caller-ID signals to stop unwanted calls — often before the first ring.

Key features:
• Automatic spam & fraud call blocking using the Android call-screening framework
• Your own block rules: numbers, number-series, prefixes and name keywords
• Whitelist: trusted numbers are never blocked
• International call filter: block or allow calls country-by-country
• Block history: see every blocked call with the reason
• Repeat-spam memory: a number blocked once is silenced instantly next time
• Pause protection anytime; optional "trust verified businesses" mode
• 100% on-device: your call data is never uploaded, sold or shared

HOW CALL KAVACH USES THE ACCESSIBILITYSERVICE API
Call Kavach uses Android's AccessibilityService API for one optional feature: while your phone is ringing, it reads the caller-ID popup that the Truecaller app shows on screen. If that popup identifies the caller as "Spam" or "Fraud", Call Kavach automatically ends the call for you. Only the text of Truecaller's caller-ID window is read, and only during an incoming call — Call Kavach does not read any other apps, screens, messages or personal content, and this data is processed on your device in real time; it is never collected, stored or shared. You will see a full disclosure inside the app and must agree before this feature can be enabled, and you can turn it off anytime in Settings → Accessibility. The Accessibility API is not used to record call audio.

Permissions used: Phone (detect & end spam calls), Notifications access (read dialer call alerts to detect spam labels), Call screening role (block calls before they ring).

Call Kavach is not an accessibility tool for users with disabilities; it uses the AccessibilityService API solely for the caller-ID overlay reading described above.
Call Kavach is designed for local-first privacy.

What’s new

Fixed: verified business calls — such as delivery and service calls — were being rejected even when "Trust Verified Businesses" was on. These calls now ring normally, and genuine business numbers are remembered.
Spam calls are now cut before they ring, instead of ringing for a few seconds first.
New: allow a whole number series, for example every number starting with 1600.
