About this app

Payroll clears Friday. By then the job already ate the hours. This app shows you Tuesday.

Log one line a day per cost code — units done, crew size, hours — and Construction Job Cost Tracker turns it into the number you actually need: is this code over on hours, and what will it cost at completion?

THE MATH, IN THE OPEN

Same earned-hours math your estimator bid with:

earned hours = (units installed ÷ bid units) × bid hours

Compare that against the hours on the time cards. If your burn rate is 60% of the labor budget but production is only 45% complete, you are consuming hours faster than you are producing work. This app turns that into a red flag on the job board instead of a bad surprise at payroll.

A REAL WEEK

You bid 900 sheets of hang at 0.35 hrs/sheet — 315 bid hours. By Tuesday of week two the crew has hung 605 sheets: 212 earned hours. The time cards say 261 spent. The hang code goes red: 49 hours over, projected cost at completion $48,900 against a $45,000 bid. You find out with weeks left to fix it — tighten the crew, re-sequence, talk to the GC — instead of after closeout.

ONE LINE A DAY

Pick the cost code, punch in today's production (62 sheets / 3 crew / 8 hrs), save. Thirty seconds from the truck. Drafts restore if you get interrupted mid-entry. That is the entire discipline the job-cost spreadsheet never got.

THE MONDAY-MEETING PDF

Export a branded PDF variance report — every cost code, earned vs spent hours, variance, cost at completion — plus a CSV for your bookkeeper. It is the job-cost tracking spreadsheet you keep meaning to update, minus the spreadsheet.

WHAT IT TRACKS — AND WHAT IT DOES NOT

This is a labor job coster. It tracks crew hours against bid production, per cost code. It does not scan receipts, track material invoices, or replace your accounting software. If you need estimating and invoicing, use a tool built for that; this is the one that tells you whether the hours are bleeding.

PRIVACY AND PRICE

Job data stays on your phone — no account, no cloud sync, no analytics, works with no signal. One job is free so you can prove the math on a real job. A one-time Pro unlock (Google Play Billing) adds unlimited jobs, history, and the branded PDF export. No subscription.

Built for self-perform contractors — drywall, concrete, framing, electrical — running one to three crews.
