About this app

Anvil is the service book for everything you own with an engine: the bike, the
car, the boat, the camper, the quad, the van. One app, one history, and it keeps
working with the phone in flight mode.

What does this thing count in?
A boat does not count kilometres. Choose kilometres, miles or engine hours per
vehicle, and Anvil counts in that unit, reminders included. Petrol, diesel,
hybrid or electric: an electric car is not offered an oil change.

When is it actually due?
Set an interval by distance, by time, or both, and the one that lands first is
the one that warns you. A bike that sleeps six months is due by date; a van that
does 40,000 a year is due by distance. Every interval is a starting point you can
edit, and every task can be renamed or deleted.

How long does it take to log a service?
An oil change, its filter and the two things you also did that afternoon go in a
single entry, with the reading, the cost, the shop, your notes and photos of the
receipts. Anything not on the list, you type in. There is no closed list of jobs,
and no closed list of makes and models either: if your 2009 Gold Wing or your
Rebel 500 is not in some database, you just write it.

Can I get my records out?
Export the full book to PDF, ready to print or to hand to a buyer, or to CSV for
a spreadsheet. Save a backup file and restore it on a new phone. All of it free,
none of it behind the paywall, because they are your records.

Do I have to sign up?
There is no sign-up, no email, no phone number and no server. Everything lives on
this phone, which also means the backup is on you: it is one button, and it costs
nothing.

What does it cost?
The free app keeps one vehicle with every feature. One payment, once, adds as
many vehicles as you want. No subscription and no ads, ever.

The maintenance intervals that come with the app are common practice, not your
manufacturer's: check your handbook and change them, which is what the edit
button is for. If something does not work for you, write and it gets fixed.
Bike, car, boat or camper: one service book. No account, free PDF and CSV.
