About this app

The entire khim is in your hands — play, practice, and tune anytime, anywhere.

KHIM is a virtual Thai musical instrument app that brings the khim to your screen, with sounds recorded from real khim and a library of Thai sheet music for practice.

■ 7 / 9 / 11-string Khim
Select the khim size on the playing screen. Photos are of real khim. Tap on the string position for instant sound response. Play multiple sounds simultaneously. Press and hold = roll (switching between two hands like real playing, not a machine-like rapid sound). Includes string vibration effect only during actual playing.

■ Library of 20 Thai Sheet Music
Practice mode plays the notes aloud with cymbal accompaniment. Watch the notes move along with the music.
• Adjustable tempo. Practice slowly first, then speed up. The app remembers the tempo for each song.
• Automatic repeat. Practice the same section without having to restart.
• Choose to play with the khim sound or the large gong ensemble sound.
• Unlocked songs Listen to a free sample before deciding.

• International Tuning (A4 = 440 Hz)
The selected system affects all sounds in the app, not just the tuner and the sound of the large gong in practice mode. Separate audio files for all 3 systems are available.

■ Real-Time Tuning Tuner
Use the microphone to listen to your real instrument and hear how high or low the pitch is, with a graph showing the stability of the sound and a "tuning fork" that plays reference notes for comparison.

■ MIDI Keyboard Connectivity
Connect a MIDI keyboard or pad via USB-OTG cable or Bluetooth and play all notes without screen size restrictions.

■ Touchscreen Lock
Press one button to disable all touch input except for the khim (Thai zither). Practice for extended periods without accidentally pressing the menu (free feature).

■ 3 Languages
Thai / English / Chinese (Changeable in settings)
