This appears to be just what I need for live use. An app where I can very quickly dial (no button tapping) in a bpm and get a clear bright visual pulse I can see in a live situation. You can turn the sound off and set it to not let the phone go to sleep. As a percussionist usually the drummer does this for me, and I can think of a few who need this app! Working with a new acoustic band with no drummer prompted me to look for this. Should be perfect.
Possibly the most elegantly designed UX I've ever seen on any metronome. Pulse seems like a good idea and something worth experimenting in the future for live performances. However, this app desperately needs two improvements: 1. Actually show the beat subdivision in writing (quarter notes, eighth notes, etc.) 2. Have the option of sixteenth-triplets (also called sextuplets in some parts of the world).
I've been using metronomes for more years than I haven't and I've always been disappointed with the low quality of Android metronome apps. This app manages to reverse the trend - intuitive, clean, no frills, no ads, and just works flawlessly. Look no further for a metronome app, you can install this one and stop looking now! Seems like this app also supports some kind of watch, which I don't have. I'm just using it for the basic metronome functionality. Please consider including an option to enable the standard BPM subdivisions (40, 42, 44, ... 200, 208) that can be found on dial metronomes. It would make changing the BPM a little easier during practice.
Very well designed app with lots of features. Only feedback I'd provide is for the digital voice setting. Was looking for an app to help train by saying the number and would love it if it did "and" instead of just repeating the number but still good nonetheless!
Ad-free and minimalistic. One thing I'd wish there was more usable tap tempo function. That screen flashing is very annoying, please just make a setting to turn this off, average BPM is more than enough. Thanks for a great app otherwise!
Best metronome app IMHO. Always enjoyed using this as a basic metronome (I dont use the Pulse) for various work things I do: practice, technical exercises, learning new repertoire & stress-testing my memory of older Jazz rep. It'd be interesting option to add compression to the sounds (so we can go above our hardware volume limits) as in a teaching environment that's the only thing I wish for once two brass players really get going. The ability to add presets is great for the process of gradual speed increases in 'technical progression'...much more handy than the wall charts I used to make as a student :)
• 16 new sounds, with 2 especially recommended by the World’s Most Recorded Drummer, John “JR” Robinson
• More reliable Bluetooth connection between the app and the Soundbrenner Pulse
• Greater stabilization of the app after squashing bugs that were causing the app to crash
A simple, quick and very accurate metronome with a natural sound and no ads.
