About this app

I am a Responsible Tourist is an innovative app created by CAF that uses Augmented Reality (AR) technology to offer an immersive and educational experience in the Green Zone of the COP 16 event in Cali. Users explore different georeferenced zones on a map within the game area, where they complete various interactive tasks.

Upon reaching an interaction zone, users face challenges that allow them to interact with elements related to endangered species of Colombia. These activities are designed to educate in a playful manner, inviting users to reflect on the relationship between humans and other species, and how our actions as tourists impact the ecosystem.

By completing actions, users can “save” the species, unlocking additional information about them, their habitat, and how to contribute to their preservation. Additionally, the species can be launched in AR in the user’s environment, allowing them to take photos and interact with them at different event locations.

The experience is guided by a narrator who provides interesting information about the species, highlighting the importance of the actions tourists take throughout the experience.

I Am a Responsible Tourist not only offers an exciting adventure but also promotes environmental awareness and education about biodiversity conservation, making users feel like active participants in protecting our planet.
