About this app

DISCLAIMER: Blue Card Checker is an independent app developed by Gladstone Digital. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Queensland Government, Blue Card Services, or any government entity. This app does not represent a government service.

OFFICIAL SOURCE: All card validation is performed against the Queensland Government's public Blue Card Services validation portal at https://www.bluecard.qld.gov.au/onlinevalidation/ — the app does not store, cache, or replicate government data. Every check goes directly from your device to the official portal in real time.

ABOUT
Qld Blue Card Checker makes it easy to verify that a Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card) is current and valid. Whether you're a sports club, community group, school, or event organiser, you can check a volunteer or employee's Blue Card status in seconds, right from your phone.

HOW IT WORKS
The app opens the Queensland Government's official Blue Card Services validation portal (https://www.bluecard.qld.gov.au/onlinevalidation/) inside a secure in-app browser. You're checking against the real government system — not a copy, cache, or database.

TWO WAYS TO VALIDATE
• Scan a physical Blue Card using your phone's camera — the app reads the card details automatically using on-device text recognition
• Manually enter the cardholder's name, card number, issue number and expiry date

PRIVACY FIRST
• Nothing is uploaded to the cloud — all validation checks go directly from your device to the Queensland Government portal
• Validation history is stored locally on your device only, so you can review past checks and export them as CSV. History never leaves your phone unless you export it yourself
• Camera images are processed on-device only — no images are saved or uploaded
• No analytics, no tracking, no ads
• No account or login required

BUILT FOR QUEENSLAND ORGANISATIONS
Designed for anyone who needs to verify Blue Cards as part of their safeguarding responsibilities — eisteddfods, sporting clubs, churches, childcare centres, schools and community groups.

What’s new

What's new in 1.0.2: • Fixed: scanning an expired Blue Card no longer causes the validation screen to flicker. Expired cards are now caught before submission with a clear message. • Fixed: scanning sometimes captured "Working With Children Card" as part of the cardholder's name, causing the validation to fail. Names are now extracted cleanly. • Updated app icon and splash screen.
