About this app

*Must be used in conjunction with Photo Gallery

The all new AiFoto has been revamped and brings a variety of new features to make photo organization easier than ever. New features for AiFoto include, but are not limited to timelines, smart albums. Instant auto-upload, performance enhancements, and customized share links make for an even better photo viewing and sharing experience.

— Needless to worry about other users seeing your photo. Just create NAS accounts for every user.
— Quickly find and view photos from a specific date in AiFoto’s timeline.
— AiFoto sorts your photos in a smarter way. Smart albums found in AiFoto include places, videos, recently added and favorites.
— Supports two methods to share photos, share links to other NAS users or to friends and family. All shared albums have optional encryption to protect sensitive information.
— Automatically back up photos from your phone in real-time.
— Automatic logins make viewing and backups easy.
— Download and upload task monitoring makes controlling your transfers easy.
— Easily understand photo metadata as well as edit photo descriptions to make photo identification easier.
— Easily find photos by keyword search.

*At present, the instant upload backup of mobile phone photos will generate folders under Home/MyPhoto/SmartUpload on the NAS. Each folder has a maximum of 999, so if you have many photos to upload at the same time; for example, 4000 photos on the mobile phone, it will cut into five folders.

Path: Home/MyPhoto/SmartUpload

*For NAS model AS10 series user, if you have more than15000 photos in your phone and want to auto-backup at one time, we suggest go to NAS Off-peak Hours to disable background process and enable background process once upload finish.
*It may take a while for photo indexing and thumbnail making especially for some entry models may take a day to show up if you upload a lot of photos at the same time.

This app is the absolute worst. Backup barely works, constant crashes, video uploads quit and have to constantly restart. Sometimes they get to the end, aren't uploaded, and restart. There's no way to bypass tasks. I chose the Asustor NAS because of it having mobile apps for backing up my photos and videos. I am really regretting that decision. DO BETTER DO BETTER DO BETTER!

Hi Jon Bahnick, please tell us how to reproduce the crash issue and provide your specific NAS model and ADM/Photo Gallery version. It would be even better if it included screen recording. Send this to curtishsu@asustor.com or contact our Support: https://support.asustor.com/ We hope to help you clarify/resolve the issue. Thank you.

Asustor's apps are incredibly buggy. Wish I had played around with it more before my return period was over. The first AiFoto would crash when trying to connect and auto backup/upload tasks would be stuck at partial upload. AiFoto 3 just keeps crashing when you look at the tasks tab and it's just stuck on the same number of uploads remaining. It's set to run in the background and it's been given permission to run in the background but it doesn't auto backup. Unfortunately, I have no other options to backup my phone photos automatically. I guess I'll just stick to periodic backups.

Hi saeng Sorry to hear about the crash issues. we would really like to help you. 1.Would you mind tell us how you log in? Like by using cloud id or IP? 2.We are doubting there might be specific kinds of photos format that can cause the issue. If possible, you can email to pinhaohuang@asustor.com for more help and providing the photos that stuck.

the app is missing one important basic function - downloading and syncing of complete folders from NAS or in other words - caching of photos to phone. I keep my whole photo collection on NAS. I do expect to be able to mark folders with photos on NAS to cache it (download it and keep synched) to phone when home on WiFi, to not use 5G later. The option to download files is usless since not downloaded with folder structure and not synched to NAS of I ad photo on NAS to that folder

Hi Karel Skranka, thank you for the detailed feedback! Currently, we do not support downloading entire NAS folder structures. We are investigating how to better display data when the app is offline in future. Thanks you.
