When this first launched, I jumped at the chance to basically get a free Apple TV just for trying this out. It was clunky, slow and had to buffer every couple minutes. Since then the service has consistently gotten better. Load times quicker, not just on the ATV but Android as well. I cast to my shield and that works with few hiccups. Honestly as long as the service continues to get better then I don't see any reason to not give this at least a chance. No it's not perfect but what else has debuted perfectly? Also I'm able to use the HBO Go app with my DirecTV now login.
Do you guys even test this app at all? Never works with Chromecast. This is ridiculous now after being released over 6 months ago. EDIT: Adding a second star because for the first time in forever, this app actually worked tonight. Will keep trying.
App is buggy while steaming to Chromecast. I am so tired of waiting for Android TV and roku app. Sling TV worked so much better. Update: getting better but still no Android TV app for my sony tv.
Problems with HBO shows, main issues were The Pacific the last 3 episodes were only 23 minutes in length. The next problem is with Deadwood, S1/E1 ran fine but when starting S1/E2 skipped immediately to S1/E3. IF this problem were not present, assuming there are no other HBO problems I would have rated at 5 stars.
App too glitchy.. will keep my other 30 day free trial streaming service... that connects all the time and has less streaming issues...
The lowest star is way pass the highest star. That should let the developers know. Their company sucks. Hbo go is the way to go
