Jazz Improviser helps musicians, students, and composers discover new melodic ideas over chord progressions.

Choose from 73 built-in jazz presets — blues, rhythm changes, turnarounds, standards, and more — or write your own chords. Let the app generate random harmony, or keep a fixed progression while you explore new melodies.

Shape the music visually The piano roll shows your melody over time. Draw a blue pitch contour to guide register and direction, and an orange rhythm contour to control note lengths and density. Add motifs for recurring melodic shapes, then regenerate until something clicks.
