Reading is mentally exercising and for most it requires time, a resource that's scarce. That's where audible comes to the rescue. It's truly revolutionized the art of reading/listening to books. It's effortless allowing you to multitask with that limited time. You can listen to books on the commute, while running, in the kitchen making dinner or just listen to something as you are falling asleep. The best thing that has happened to books since print
Audible, such a great app. I'm a truck driver, this helps me stay awake every day. But when in driving mode it doesn't time out the screen and now I have the pause button burned into the screen of my S8... honestly, I didn't even think these newer phones could get a burn image like that. So just be careful to shut off the screen when listening.
This app is perfect for listening to audiobooks. Wasn't worth it before for me to pay monthly but since I've been listening much more often a book a month is great. My only criticism is that my volume doesn't recognize "media" volume until I press play. It would be nice to turn it up before I start listening.
Absolutely best way to keep up with my favorite books while I work. And the ability for the app to automatically save your place is amazing. I changed phones, had to redownload all my books and the app and when I started the book it informed me of where I left off and if I would like to start there. That blew my mind.
When I first got this app I was able to listen to my book while on the phone. I loved this feature!!!!!!! When I was placed on hold for long periods of time while on a call, my time was not fully wasted because I could still listen to my book. I am most aggreived over the fact that they have done away with this outsanding feature!!! It was such a needed convenience and I wish they would bring it back!!! Other than that, this is the BEST application out there to listen to a book that you otherwise would not have time to read because performing most task require using your hands. This app frees you to listen to your favorite authors without restraint (except when you are on hold on the phone!!!!!😣).
Audible app is robust and the content is good but it is super hard to cancel your membership (which feels sinisterly intentional) you have to go to the desktop site so you can't cancel on a phone or tablet which is crazy considering you can sign up to pay through phones or apps. And since audible is an app on my phone first and formost that is when i remember i want to cancel. Also it's not inconceivable for people to have no desktop computers in their house now so.... Ya it's a good product sold/marketed in a way I dislike dealing with. Also It feels like they should have a large podcast library as well but don't. If stitcher ever gets on their audio book game I would never use audible again.
