My free book was Kill the Dead by Richard Kadrey. The quality was exceptional. I listen to at least 2 audio books a week and get frustrated with the public library selection. I am impressed with their selection, the narration and am very pleased with the player. It's not possible for me to listen to an entire book in one sitting. The player is easy to use and kept my place for me. The sound and volume are also high quality. I intend to continue using this app/service.
All in all this app is pretty amazing because of the wide selection of audiobooks and being able to download them to my phone. I'm listening to the 9th book of wheel of Time and it's amazing, just like the rest of the series. My only qualm is that the volume doesn't go as high as I want, since I walk around my college campus while listening and it's loud outside which makes it difficult to hear. Other than that it's a great app.
I was asked to read some books for my job. With a busy schedule and a long commute, I find it difficult to make time to read. I downloaded this app so I could listen to the books instead. I have been extremely pleased and look forward to more"reads" like this in the future. I am currently reading Extreme Ownership. Great book!
Basic functionality works fine but a lot could be done to make it better. First and foremost it needs to keep the last listening location automatically, You could call it auto-bookmark if you like. It happened to me that I started reading for 1 hour, stopped the the app and came back to it the next day then I had to listen from the beginning and FF to were I was last day. Even Mortplayer which is a free app has this feature. Also the UI is unintuitive. I work in IT and there are still buttons there that I don't know what they do. Is there a video somewhere to learn about it? (There shouldn't be any need for one!)
Not bad, but so-so. I'm astonished that there are no chapter markings. E.g. I downloaded and am listening to a collection of stories. But there seems to be no way to navigate to particular stories. WTF? Otherwise it seems to work fine, and I can at least make my own bookmarks as I get to the start of the next story. How 1990's.
The application and service provided are intuitive and well executed. I have not used other applications/services of this type but this one has met all my expectations. I have recently become interested in dystopian titles and Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood was my first choice. The narration and recording were excellent.
