This app uses Accessibility Service API to protect the visually impaired and other users against phishing attacks and malicious websites via Web Guard feature. 

Contacts: A particular subset of this permission group is required to access device accounts to enable “restore a pin” action as part of App Lock feature.  

Location: Allows Network Inspector feature to identify new networks and scan them for threats.

Ratings and reviews

The free tier is great. It has all the essentials, like device scanning for viruses and malware, suspicious/malicious website protection and WIFI network scanning. It can also test your connection speed, clean the junk files from your device, and check to see if you email is listed in any data breaches. The only small issue I have is that you can't set the app to automatically scan your device with the free version, but I just set a reminder for myself to manually scan, problem solved.

after sign in and beginning setup, will be immediately signed out and asked to pay for premium to use features, I have premium and always have. used to love this app. edit: you have to pay for any assistance even if you are paying for a subscription. edit: would rate lower if possible, contacted customer support,they said they would send me an email in two days. I never got the email and when I tried to go back to customer support, every time someone connected, they would disconnect immediately.

I have been using avast for years. I have NEVER been dissatisfied with them and never had my computer or phone go down to a virus. **Since this review avast has gone downhill terribly. Everything is seperated into different apps that you have to pay different subscriptions for. I can't get it to stop notifying me of products I don't want, it just leaves the notification up there for me to buy more apps. Garbage nonsense barely even works. Do better.
