I came for the green noise and so far, I have stayed for the green noise. Their classic version which is free is extremely pleasant and helps me write tremendously.(Set vol just above the ambient room noise with headphones and let your brain filter it out) No sub req'd! In fact, the only purchase they offer is to drastically upgrade every aspect of your experience by purchasing the app for $2.99, an absolute steal for what you get. Could not be happier.

The app's basic functionality is there and the interface is clean, but for anything beyond the basic noises or to remove ads, the subscription pricing is wildly exorbitant, coming out to $15/week or $60/month. At that rate, you could just buy an actual name-brand noise machine (and then buy another one every three or four weeks). Also, as others have noted, it does sometimes stop or crash at seemingly random times, which is frustrating for something that you'd typically leave running.

The app was great until they added pre roll ads. First off, they're very loud. I open this before bed and it's jarring. Second the ads create an unbreakable loop. You can't exit them, only go to the Play Store to purchase the app from the ad. Then you're stuck there or exit the Noise Machine app to restart it... to have the same pre roll ads. I literally can't get to the functionality on the app. Giving it 3 s in hopes they fix it but it's currently unusable.
