About this app

HandType turns typed text into realistic handwriting. Type or paste a message, pick a handwriting style and a paper, and get a handwritten note in seconds. You can even write in your own handwriting. Everything runs on your phone: no account, no ads, no upload.

Handwriting that looks real
HandType does not simply switch to a handwriting font. It draws every letter with small natural changes in shape, slant, size, spacing and baseline, like a real pen on paper. No two notes look the same, and you can tap Regenerate until you like the result.

Write in your own handwriting (Premium)
Print the practice sheet, fill in the letters and digits with your pen, and scan the page with your phone. HandType cuts out every character and uses it to write any text you type, in your hand. The scan is processed on your phone and is never uploaded.

HandType 1.2.0
• Your own cursive handwriting now joins the letters of a word with your own strokes, also at the top after o, v and w (Premium).
• Missing punctuation and accents are drawn in your own pen style (Premium).
• The handwriting sheet has four guide lines per cell, so small letters stay small. Older sheets still scan.
• Better results from filled-in sheets: longer descenders, tall capitals, i dots and wide letters like x and w.
• Smaller download: the app is about half the size.
