A ruled horizon across the top of the dial. Above it, the sky. Everything you read sits under it.
WEATHER NEEDS ONE PERMISSION, ONCE
Wear OS does not give watch faces location access by default, so the temperature shows --° until you allow it:
Settings > Security and privacy > Permission manager > Location > Watch faces > Allow while using the app
Everything else works the moment you install it. Time, date, steps, heart rate, battery, notifications and the moon are built in: no permission, and no complication spent on them.
PUTTING IT ON THE WATCH
Buy here, then open the Play Store on your WATCH and install Lunette from your library. Press and hold the current face, scroll to Lunette, tap it; press and hold again and tap Customize. If the payment prompt appears twice, you are charged once.
ABOVE THE LINE
Not a window cut in the plate: the sky is the whole top of the dial, out to the case on both sides, closed underneath by one machined rule.
The sun rises at the left of it, stands highest at midday and sets at the right. The moon takes the same arc through the night and is highest at midnight. Both dim away at the ends rather than sliding off an edge. Six in the morning to six at night, on the watch's own clock.
The moon carries its phase while it crosses: sixteen steps through the month, drawn as a terminator, the soft curved shadow line the moon actually has.
Behind them, the weather. Storm, snow, rain, fog, wind, cloud, part cloud or clear — whatever the watch reports, the sky becomes it, and the stars go out when it clouds over. The temperature reads just under the rule.
UNDER THE LINE, TWO COLUMNS
The time is on the left, large. The date is on the right. The hands' hub sits between them. Under Bottom line, the right column can carry today's low and high instead of the date.
In 12-hour mode, AM or PM prints beside the digits, and the digits do not move to make room for it.
TWO REGISTERS, EIGHT SOURCES EACH
The sub-dials sit side by side along the bottom. Each is set separately, on the watch, from the same eight:
- Heart rate, on a 40 to 180 scale
- Steps, as a percentage of your daily goal
- Battery
- Temperature
- Moon age, in days
- Year, how much of it has gone
- Unread notifications
- Off
Off is a setting, not a fallback: the well and its needle go with it. Eight sources on two registers is 64 pairings, and each register prints the name of the one you gave it.
A needle and the digits beneath it are one reading out of one expression. If the number moved, the needle moved with it.
TWO COMPLICATION SLOTS, ONE OVER EACH COLUMN
One sits directly above the time, the other directly above the date. Both take short text, a ranged reading, a monochrome icon or a small image. Both are yours to change on the watch, and either can be left empty.
As it arrives, the left slot is an app shortcut, drawn as the real launcher icon of the app you give it; the right slot is the next sunrise or sunset.
192 COLOURWAYS, FROM THREE SEPARATE CHOICES
- Dial, 6: Onyx, Midnight, Forest, Claret, Slate, Silver
- Metal, 4: Steel, Gold, Rose gold, Gunmetal
- Accent, 8: Ivory, Gold, Rose, Amber, Ice, Jade, Coral, Violet
ALWAYS-ON
Minimal keeps the two hands and the centre cap. Full adds the indices, the minute track and the date. No seconds hand in either — that screen redraws once a minute, and a seconds hand on it could only look stopped.
Eight settings in all, under Customize on the watch.
WEAR OS 5 AND LATER
- Galaxy Watch, Pixel Watch and any other Wear OS 5 device
- Nothing to install on your phone
- Every reading comes off the watch itself
- No ads, no subscription, no in-app purchase, no data collected
No distance and no calories: Watch Face Format publishes no source for either, and a number this dial cannot stand behind does not go on it.

Analog hybrid dress dial. A weather sky over two sub-dials you set. Always-on.
