The app functions well overall. The first few times you use it is a great experience -- smooth with only occasional ads. Then a pop-up prompts you to rate it. Shortly after the prompt, the ads become CONSTANT and very intrusive. So in addition to being ad-heavy, I think the reviews are inflated because of the deceptive way on which they're solicited.

Works really well as long as your phone is stationary in the room and not close to a single point of noise. Also when stationary near something (fan, appliance, speaker) it can give a good idea of that noise value. I really like the running graph and general stats on the testing sessions. Gives a good method to measure at different distances, volumes, or running speeds. Obviously variances will occur between devices and the quality of the device's components.

Seems to work good. Needs more options, such as time tagging & labeling. I don't know how accurate, as i don't have a baseline to compare with. While driving a diesel club cab 1700, as engine revs increased, apparent loudness increased, but Sound Meter db remained the same at 87. I'll find our sound survey for certain areas in the facility and use them as a baseline. Then I'll know for sure how accurate this app is.
