Accountability Partner (Parental Control)
Choose an accountability partner to ensure you stay on track. Whenever you want to turn off or reset any blocker option, your partner will be notified and must approve the change. This feature can act as a form of parental control.

Block Apps & Websites/Keywords
Easily block any distracting websites, keywords, or apps from your blocklist page, helping you stay focused on your goals or studies.

YouTube Safe Search
By default, BlockerHero also blocks adult content on YouTube. If you try to search for any explicit content on YouTube, this app will block you from accessing the content immediately.

Focus Mode🕑
This feature is very important if you want more focus and productivity in life.
How it works: In focus mode, for example, you schedule a focus time (10:30 PM - 6:00 AM) then during the active focus time only Call/SMS and your custom-selected apps are allowed, other apps will be blocked.

Important permissions required by the app:
1. Accessibility Service(BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE): This permission is used to block adult websites and apps on your phone.
2. System alert window(SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): This permission is used to display a blocked window overlay over the blocked adult content also helps us to enforce safe search on browsers.
3. Device admin app(BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN): This permission is used to prevent you from uninstalling the BlockerHero app.

Ratings and reviews

I really enjoy this blocker. It's the only one I've found that let's you block 10 sites/keywords so it's useful in the free mode and I really appreciate that. If they had an app that could work on my MacBook and it was cheaper, I would make the one time purchase to go premium because I dont want another subscription. My only issue is that when I tried to use a different web browser than Chrome (It was Yandex), it stopped blocking completely.

This is definitely the best blocker you can download. The problem is it's just too good. They literally make it impossible for you to make changes by yourself in order to add an app to whitelist you got a write an impossible phrase In a short amount of time and that's for everything. Like I get it, cool but at least give me more time to write the phrase it's ridiculous. *****Update. Just realized you can and email them they'll if you need something unblocked and then respond back pretty quick !

I used it for years and it worked great. It was exactly what I needed. Then, this past year (2025), some updates were made. First, they removed the "block phone reboot" option. I understand why it was removed, but it helped me avoid accessing Safe Mode, which turns off the blocker. Second, the app completely stopped working. I could access everything I had blocked, without any idea why it stopped.
