Considering this platform is app-centric, the quantity of issues I experience with the app (freezing and sluggishness being most common) aren't inspiring. Across 4 devices now, can it still be something I am missing? I'd like to see where this might go. But the devs have had a lengthy period of time to work on this... this "weather station"... without anything substantiative communicated in terms of what it might grow up to be. It's approaching a place on the shelf with the other, tired toys.
Works Quite Well (within reason) Once you get connected, seems pretty rock solid. You have to have patience when syncing it up to Weather Underground and some of the IFTTTs are wonky. It's a great starter station and with the right IT experience, integrates nicely. Any ideas why IFTTTs are going haywire with hundreds of triggers happening for 1 timelapse?
A good concept... Executing on that concept? Not so much. BloomSky has good-looking, relatively inexpensive hardware, but the cloud-based system software is a hot mess. Since the hardware is 100% dependent on the cloud, its utility and accuracy is very limited. Download the app to look at pretty time-lapse pictures of the sky, but from personal experience, I don't recommend relying on any of the weather data you can't independently verify with another system.
No response for customer issues. App not able to complete setup. Green WiFi LED flashing issue. Referred to help in internet and submitted form for the device but, not yet added my device. It is soo painful to just see the device siting on my desk without being able to setup. Guys please help. Please.
It's a bit klunky I thought I would get more control and acces to the units. I am concerned that the sky's battery will not do cold weather. They said about 20 days life. I've gotten 6.
STORM rain wind sensor battery is terrible... I charged the STORM up via the USB. Within 30 minutes the battery is down to 75%. The solar panel seams undersized. Thinking of selling both units at a local swap meet next weekend.
We regularly release new versions of the App to make it better. Here's what we've done.
- Improved user experience in setup process, settings and interface.
- Added millimeters or inches per hour for rain rate units display.
- Performance enhancements and bug fixes.
