The Camp Chef Connect app introduces a smart, convenient way to cook outdoors.

Control your grill from your phone
Tastiness is only a tap away! Use the Camp Chef Connect app to connect to your WIFI/Bluetooth enabled pellet grill. You’ll be able to set and monitor temperatures, adjust smoke levels, and shut down your grill from your mobile device.

Monitor your cook
Actively monitor the temperature of your grill and meat probes on your phone. Set and enable pop-up notifications for grill timers or once meat probe goal temperatures have been met. Have the ability to connect and monitor your grill from anywhere, as if you were standing beside your grill.


Your data stored on all your devices
By creating an account through the Camp Chef Connect app, your grill’s cook data is available to you at all times on all your mobile devices. Seamlessly switch between multiple Camp Chef grills. Historical cook graphs will allow you to view the results of a specific cook over time. These graphs will grant you access to information and insights allowing you to view what went well and what you would change.

Good connectivity, bad UI. Only used this a bit so far, but over the course of making chicken legs I had much better connectivity than I have in the past. but the fact that they wrapped a bunch of junk in this along with the grill control and made it less intuitive to get around sucks. Also, I ran into a bug where if I tried to set the temperature on all of the probes at once it wouldn't and I had to go into manual mode and set each separately. Fix: Default to grill control & fix the bugs.

So far so good. Much more responsive and didn't have the disconnects and slow loads of the old app. It even remembered my previous connection and wifi. No need to re-enter. First cook with the new app was flawless. Hoping it stays this way. The front page doesn't really bother me. There are two buttons on it one that says 'get cooking' or just the big grill menu bar button on the bottom. Both get you to the normal grill screen. Not sure on recipes, but should be able to favorite them.

Instead of fixing the functionality of the old app, they abandoned it (and the 1.8 average stars as of this review). This new one starts you off looking at recipes, rather than the grill itself which is the big central button. Also, the shop is right next to that button, so it's very easy to accidentally press that and get taken to your browser. This already feels to me like dark patterns to guide users, rather than making it as functional as possible. Not happy with the Camp Chef brand now.
