It is very good. Would recommend it to others. Really like the Cantonese pronunciations. Since Aug 2023, the pronunciations of this app has stopped working (i.e. no sound). My husband and I have the same phone model and on his phone the pronunciations work fine. And it couldn't be the speakers of my phone because the ads in this app played just fine. This is very frustrating especially since the ads work whilst not everything in the app does. I have uninstalled and re-installed to no avail.

Many English words, when used in a different context, have different meanings. Most electronic, even the so-called "big names", dictionaries often give only a single Chinese definition and/or less than ideal definitions. This Chinese Dictionary Offline, by Danny Ko, not only gives examples of Chinese meanings when used in a different context, it also provides audio examples of all choices. It is an exceptional 5-Star+ app! It's a pity I have yet to find it in the Apple App Store.

Well the fact that the app is offline and has both Cantonese AND Mandarin reading/characters and English translations is enough for me after a long hunt on Google Play. Although it took me a while to figure out you had to press the button TWICE for the pronounciation sound to actually play. For some reason I can't search as fast by pressing when I use Chinese keyboard only unlike other dictionary apps I know but I can deal with it so overall not too bad c:
