Choo Choo is the UK train ticket app with no booking fees. Search, compare and book train tickets across the entire National Rail network. What you see is what you pay.
How Choo Choo helps you pay less for train tickets
Split ticket savings
Choo Choo searches for split ticket combinations on every journey. Split ticketing works by breaking a single train journey into two or more tickets at intermediate stations, often resulting in a lower total fare. You stay on the same train and in the same seat. When a split ticket saving is found, Choo Choo takes up to 15% of the saving as commission, shown clearly before checkout. You still pay less than the standard fare.
In a January 2026 test across 22 popular UK routes, Choo Choo offered the best or joint-best price on 15 of 22 routes (68%) when compared with four of the leading train ticket apps, securing more outright wins than any other app tested. Head-to-head against Trainline, Choo Choo was cheaper on 18 of 22 routes (82%). No booking fees
Some train ticket apps may charge booking fees at checkout. Choo Choo charges zero booking fees on every ticket. We earn a standard 4.5% industry commission from the Rail Delivery Group on non-season ticket sales, which is built into the fare and does not affect the price you pay. This is the same commission earned by all accredited retailers. No booking fees and no upsells.
Delay Repay alerts
When your booked train is delayed, you may be owed compensation under the Delay Repay scheme. The threshold varies by operator: 15 minutes for most operators including Avanti West Coast, GWR, LNER, Northern, Southeastern, and others, or 30 minutes for operators such as CrossCountry, ScotRail, and c2c. Choo Choo notifies you when your train qualifies, tells you how much you could be owed, and links to the operator's claim page.

How split tickets work
When you search for train tickets in Choo Choo, the app checks whether buying separate tickets for different sections of the same journey costs less than a single through ticket. If a split ticket saving is available, you see the saving and the commission clearly before you book. You board the train once and travel as normal.
