About this app

WHAT IT DOES

DroneLog 107 is an offline flight and fleet log for the Part 107 remote pilot.
It records what you flew, what you flew it on, and the dates that run out.

Part 107 does not require you to keep a flight log. No part of it creates that
duty. This app exists because a client, an insurer or your own maintenance
planning needs the record, not because a rule does.

The flight
- Start it and end it, or enter one you already flew
- Aircraft, job, and the location you typed. The app takes no location
permission of any kind, so nothing is read off the phone
- Battery packs used. Tick a pack and it gains a cycle; untick it and the cycle
comes back off
- Resting voltage per pack, and your own account of what happened

The dates that lapse
- Recurrent training under 14 CFR 107.65 is counted in 24 CALENDAR months, so
recency runs to the last day of the month, not to the day of the month.
Counting to the day would call a current pilot lapsed
- It is a training course, not a test and not a renewal, and the app says so
- Your remote pilot certificate itself does not expire. What lapses is the
recency of aeronautical knowledge, and the screen names that rather than the
certificate
- Aircraft registration under 14 CFR 48.105 runs three years from the date of
issue, which is an exact date and not a calendar month. The app repeats the
date you read off your certificate and counts the days to it. It never
derives that date, because a renewal runs from the previous expiry rather
than from the day you renewed

The fleet
- Airframe hours, including the hours flown before you installed the app
- A service interval per airframe, with in interval, due soon, or past the date
- An airframe with no baseline says so rather than reporting zero hours
- Battery packs with their cycle counts, tied to an aircraft or shared
- Service history, so a motor replaced under warranty is on the record

Jobs and what you hand over
- Group flights under a job with the client and your own reference
- Total flight time per job
- Build a document from it for the client or the insurer
- Backup and restore in one file holding everything. It restores on any device
and it is not part of the paid plan

WHO IT IS FOR
- Part 107 remote pilots flying commercially, solo or in a small outfit
- Real estate, inspection, survey and mapping operators
- Anyone who needs a flight record for a client or an insurer

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

It does not validate your certificate number, because there is no published
stable format and a wrong validator would block a real pilot from entering his
own. It does not decide whether an event is reportable under 14 CFR 107.9; it
records what you saw and names the ten calendar day deadline so you can decide.
It gives no airspace, weather or authorization data and is not a flight
planning tool.

YOUR RECORDS STAY ON YOUR DEVICE

Flights, aircraft, packs, jobs and dates are stored on the phone. There is no
account and no sign in. The app does send crash reports and anonymous usage
statistics, and the standard tier shows ads.

SCOPE

DroneLog 107 is a record keeping tool. It is not an FAA service, an
authorization, or legal or airworthiness advice, and keeping a log does not
make an operation compliant.
