About this app

HourKeep is an offline service log for every powered machine on a
smallholding, a yard or an estate: the compact tractor, the ride-on and the
walk-behind mower, the chipper, the standby generator, the chainsaw, the
pressure washer, the ATV, the log splitter.

Servicing on these machines is driven by the hour meter, not the calendar, and
the owner has to hold it across makes and decades.


TWO CLOCKS, WHICHEVER ARRIVES FIRST

Every schedule item is due at an hour interval, a calendar interval, or both,
and the one that arrives first is the one that counts. That is how the
maintenance tables in the manuals are written, and it is what a spreadsheet
gets wrong.

An item that cannot be ranked yet says so. Nothing is coloured healthy because
the app has run out of ways to work it out.


IT WORKS WITH NO SERVICE HISTORY

Most machines arrive with no records at all, and eight machines by ten items
is eighty questions nobody can answer. Say you do not know when a machine was
last serviced and HourKeep starts the clock today, reads the meter once, and
marks the item as baselined from that day. The marker stays on the item and
prints on the record, so nobody later mistakes it for a measured interval.


THE SHED BOARD

Every machine on one screen with a drawn hour gauge, sorted by what needs
attention. One tap logs a reading, which is the thing you actually do standing
next to a running machine.


HOURS ARE READ BY HAND, SO THE APP SAYS SO

A figure carried forward from the last reading is labelled as an estimate
wherever it appears, including on the printed record. A reading lower than the
last one is never accepted silently: HourKeep asks whether it was a typo or a
replaced meter, and a replaced meter stores an offset rather than rewriting
anything you entered.


PARTS LOCKER

Part numbers, oil grades and capacities, tyre pressures and battery types, per
machine, with a photo of the old filter if you want one. A 30-day list gathers
everything falling due across every machine with the numbers you recorded, for
the trip to the counter.

WHO IT IS FOR

Smallholders, hobby farmers, paddock and large-garden owners, one-man
groundcare businesses, estate and churchyard volunteers.


WHAT IT IS NOT

HourKeep bundles no manufacturer service schedules. The intervals it seeds for
each machine type are conservative starting points and the app says so on the
item itself; your owner's manual overrides them. The machine record is your
own log, not a manufacturer service record, and it does not certify that any
work met a maker's specification.

There is no telematics, no OBD and no Bluetooth. Readings are typed in.

The app works with no account and no connection. Crash and usage diagnostics
are sent so faults can be found and fixed.
