The AMAR Project (Assistance and Monitoring for Street Animals) was conceived by veterinarians Aldenor Lima and Joana Darc with the aim of helping stray animals in the city of Manaus through the TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) procedure.
Using geolocation, the population of Manaus can add information about dogs and cats in their region, cataloging them through images for the municipal database of community animals, thus assisting in the creation of a population census of animals in Manaus.
The project also plans to assist the animals of the capital, creating and enriching public policies for animal welfare in Manaus. It is worth noting that the project works towards controlling the population of stray animals.
