About this app

Coffret is an expense tracker for freelancers who also track personal spending. Everything
stays on your phone. There is no account to create, no cloud to sync with, and nothing to
sign up for.

Most money apps want your bank credentials and a subscription. Coffret asks for neither. You
enter what you spend, and the data stays in an encrypted database on your device — where you
can back it up yourself, and where nobody else can reach it.


BUSINESS AND PERSONAL, ONE APP
Every transaction is marked business or personal. Switch the filter at the top of any screen
to see one, the other, or both. If you only track personal spending, turn the business layer
off and the tax fields disappear completely.


LOG AN EXPENSE IN SECONDS
A keypad-first entry screen with a built-in calculator, categories ordered by what you
actually use, and smart defaults for wallet and date. Add income, expenses and transfers
between accounts.


BUDGETS THAT WARN YOU EARLY
Set monthly budgets per category. See how much is left, how many days remain, and a
projection of where the month will land based on your current pace — before you go over,
not after.


BUILT FOR SELF-EMPLOYED WORK

subscriptions and retainers once and let them post on schedule.


YOUR BACKUP IS YOURS
Because there is no server, the backup file is the safety net — and it belongs to you. Export
a full backup whenever you like, or set it to run weekly. Restore shows you exactly what is
in a file before anything is written. Export your ledger as CSV or a PDF report any time.


LOCKED DOWN
The database is encrypted at rest with SQLCipher. Lock the app behind your fingerprint, face
or a PIN, and hide amounts when you switch apps.


WHAT COFFRET DOES NOT DO
It does not connect to your bank. It does not sync between devices. It does not run ads,
collect analytics, or make any network requests at all — it works exactly the same in
airplane mode. Those are deliberate choices, not missing features.
