🔬 What is the FSRS algorithm?
Free Spaced Repetition Scheduler (FSRS) is a next-generation spaced repetition learning algorithm developed based on learning data from over 20,000 students.
Differences from the Existing Method (SM-2)
• Spacing Calculation: Fixed multiplier → Adjusts spacing for each card by predicting the probability of forgetting.
• Difficulty Tracking: Single indicator → Separately manages difficulty and stability.
• Mistake Management: Ease Hell occurs → Automatic recovery is possible with a flexible schedule.
Why is it more effective?
━ Personalized Scheduling: Cases deemed "difficult" by the user are frequently tested, while cases deemed "easy" are rarely tested.
━ Forgetting Timing Calculation: Maximize efficiency by scheduling review based on a 90% retention probability.
━ Learning Time Savings: Designed to reduce the overall learning load by 20-30% while maintaining the same retention rate.
📌 Main Screen Layout
1. Home Screen
This screen displays the number of cards to review today, the number of cards scheduled for review after tomorrow, and the number of new cards at a glance. You can choose from "Today's Study / Focused Review / Pre-Study / New Problems / Mock Test" modes.
2. Case Law List
All case laws are sorted by subject, category, and progress status. Quickly find specific cases by combining AND/OR and search ranges in the search bar at the top. Each card displays the D-Day, number of studies, number of forgets, difficulty, stability, and status badge.
3. Quiz Screen
After solving a true/false question, the card flips over with a smooth animation, revealing the correct answer and explanation. Clicking the "Repeat / Difficult / Correct / Easy" button will cause the FSRS algorithm to immediately recalculate the review schedule for each card. The progress bar at the top allows you to check your current progress against today's learning goals.
4. Statistics Screen
This screen visualizes daily study volume, card status distribution, subject-specific progress, and retention rate in a chart. You can preview the number of cards you need to review over the next seven days, allowing you to strategically plan your study until the exam.
5. Settings Screen
This screen allows you to configure the learning algorithm, including subject (deck) selection, target retention rate (70-99%), and maximum review cycle (30-730 days). It also provides detailed options for backup/restore, history reset, and full data reset.
⚙️ Algorithm Setting Tips
Target Retention Probability
• 95-99%: Suitable for very frequent review and immersive memorization right before the exam.
• Around 90%: Recommended setting, a balance of efficiency and stable memorization.
• Around 80%: Suitable for leisurely review, long-term study, and practitioners.
Maximum Review Cycle
• Short-term, high-intensity exams such as the Bar Exam, Judicial Exam, and Police Exam: Set to 60-180 days, depending on the number of days remaining until the exam.
• Long-term exam candidates such as CPAs, Patent Attorneys, and Tax Accountants: Set to 180-365 days to spread the burden.
• Long-term study for practitioners: Set to 365-730 days to receive reminders "once in a while" when they're likely to forget.
🛡️ Privacy Protection
All data is stored only on your device and can be used completely offline without any separate registration or server transmission. Users can create backup files and transfer them to other devices only when necessary.
💡 Study Tips
1. Consistently complete "Today's Learning" every day. The algorithm automatically adjusts the appropriate study volume.
2. Be honest when selecting the difficulty level. Consider "Appropriate" as the standard, and mark only the truly challenging cases as "Difficult."
3. Check the weekly workload chart. If you notice a high volume of study on a particular day, use the "Pre-study" mode to distribute the workload.
4. If your retention rate on the statistics screen falls below 80%, it's a sign that you're behind on your review. Try using the "Focused Review" mode to get back on track.
