Keeping the rural community safe
Country Eye is an Information Reporting App for people living and working in rural
Kent, UK. This is a free app that records incidents and information using the mobile
devices camera and location settings.
Farm and Rural Crime is often unreported, victims or witnesses feel the process is
too time consuming, irrelevant or they are just unsure how to approach the situation.
The app has been built to help Kent residents record an incident quickly, however, this does
not replace contacting Kent Police on 999 or 101.
The County Eye app allows you to record and report information easily. The County Eye team aim to provide valuable information to Kent Police about the patterns of crime in the countryside.
App users have the means to record all crime, suspicious behaviour and damage in
their immediate community or whilst out and about. Administrators will review the information and broadcast to other app users if applicable.
Types of Crime
The County Eye app identifies a number of different rural crimes and incidents under four headings:
Theft: Vehicle, Metal & Cable, Machinery & Plant, Livestock, Outbuilding, Fuel & Oil and Equine.
Farm Crime: Arson, Fly-Tipping, Trespass with and without Firearms, Criminal Damage and Suspicious behaviour with and without vehicles.
Animal, Wildlife Crime: Poaching, Animal Welfare, Endangered Species & Conservation, Hare Coursing and Horse Crime.
Heritage Crime: Off Roading and Metal Detecting/Night Hawking
Sign up is simple; just enter your contact number, email address, postcode, enable
the location finder and set the distance that you would like to receive information about, within your chosen radius. Once logged in you will receive these broadcasts from other users about incidents in the area.
Recording an incident is simple; click the camera icon, take an image, fill in the type
of crime, whether you have a crime number, and any other useful information. The location, time and date will be automatically recorded.
This information is sent to the County Eye Team, who liaise directly with Kent Police
and send appropriate information to them, third parties and other app users.
*NOTE â This application is not intended for emergency purposes. Please dial 999
for a crime in progress or 101 if a crime has been committed.
